When i was pregnant i went for a scan and the lady said that i had a dermoid cyst, is this really bad? and will it lower my chances of trying for a baby as i miscarried that baby?
The dermoid cyst is on my ovary

Yesterday my doctor found a cyst on my right ovary, possibly a dermoid, about the size of a baseball. I’m having it removed in a month. I’ve been trying to conceive for a year now with no luck. My left ovary is functioning fine. Has anyone had similar problems conceiving with a dermoid cyst and conceived after it’s removal?

Hi, Im 7 weeks pregnant with my first and had and ultra sound this past weekend.

A dermoid cyst was found on my left ovary, which is actually the ovary I used to ovulate for this pregnancy.

The cyst appears to be benign and shouldnt affect the pregnancy.

I have read that they can rupture, cause infection, or they can twist the ovary and cause great pain.

I have also read where women have had theirs removed in the 2nd trimester.

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this? Did you have yours removed etc etc?

The surgery was laprascopic – the tumor was about 4 cm. I feel mostly recovered and am not entirely sure why gentle, protected sex would be dangerous 2-3 weeks post-surgery.
I’m curious as to the reasoning BEHIND why I was told a month, as I’ve heard other doctors give a time frame of 2-3 weeks. Why is it that gentle, protected sex would be dangerous?

I have a dermoid cyst that I am going to soon have removed. Fortunately, it is benign. I was wondering if it would be okay to still have sex as long as i am not in pain… or would having sex cause this cyst to rupture or have other complications? i have googled this quite a lot and I can’t seem to find an answer.

I am sore and fatigued. I also lost my right ovary and am quite swollen in the belly area. I am 44. Any hints or info would be appreciated. Also, I am wondering why my left side is more sore if my right side had the work done on the inside. Also, do they use an adhesive underneath the staples on the incision? Thanks so much!!

I was diagnosed with either a dermoid cyst, regular cyst or fibroadenoma.. that is what the cat scan has said… does anyone know if the dermoid is cancerous.. it is 2.1 cm and not giving me any problems so far…can anyone explain.
