Red asked: My period is two weeks late and I have been having dull cramps for a week now. Pregnancy test is negative and the nurse practitioner said it could be an ovarian cyst.

Diane asked:

I rarely have physical pain prior to my period. In fact, my sister-in-law is jealous that I don’t get cramps. However, once every 7-12 months, I have severe pain on my right side where my ovary is, accompanied by bad upper abdominal pain, profuse sweating, and a fever. It feels like an ovarian cyst that had apparently been slow-growing and then it busts. Many times when this happens, I can barely walk. Ibuprofen and heat barely touches the pain. This has happened for the past eight years.
