I believe the cyst itself has not caused your eating to increase - Lets face it, the only thing that has changed is the label affixed to what is ailing you. You were not eating at all and now your eating "like a cow". It is stress, many people eat out of stress.

I do not want to minimize your situation, but you need to put it into perspective. They can remove the cyst, should that be the case. Sometimes they just leave it alone and it takes care of itself. However - the weight you put on will only cause you to become depressed and you will be left with the task of regaining your healthy weight.

Try to do something else to address the stress besides eating. I know it is bothering you, or you would not have asked the question!

I say this out of experience. I am not trying to be callous - truly I am not.

I wish you all the best!

Considering you are eating AND losing weight - I know it is easier said than done.... but you gotta look at it as worrying is not gonna change the outcome. It serves only to rob you of quality time you spend with your family and friends and make matters worse! Give yourself permission to be upset, but then move on! Attitude is everything where health is concerned!! Something positive will come from this situation, even if you cannot see it right now.
