Non-functional Ovarian Cyst?

I was recently diagnosed with a cyst on my ovary. The DR is pretty sure it is a non-functional cyst due to the fact that I am already on birth control. He did an ultrasound and determined it was about 4mm at that time. He rescheduled me to come in after two more cycles to see if it gets bigger. It has only been 4 weeks and it has gotten larger due to the fact that I can actually feel it now if I palpate my lower abdomen. Should I go back sooner? Also, every one seems so calm about it, while its really making me worry because it is getting larger, causing pain, and is non-functional. Any advice or previous experience?

I have a functional ovarian cyst, they say that it should go away soon. However, from researching on the internet, if it keeps growing, u can have surgery to remove it.
