Anyone out there had a dermoid cyst on their ovary removed and?

dermoid cyst
Danielle R asked:

When i had a c-section with my now 17 month old baby girl the doctor found a cyst on my ovary and tried to remove just the cyst. He was unable to and asked if he had my permission to remove my ovary. He said i would have no problem having another baby if i wanted one. Has anyone out there had an ovary removed because of dermoid cyst and gotten pregnant again with nor problem?
I know i still have another ovary silly…i am just curious if it took anyone that has had one removed has had a harder time getting pregnant.

If he only removed one ovary, you can totally get pregnant again. You do have another one, remember?

If it wasn’t possible, I wouldn’t be here :]

The ovaries usually take it in turns to ovulate each month as you probably know, and removing one results in the remaining ovary working twice as hard and beginning to ovulate every month to compensate.

You will still have one ovary left and that will be enough to get pregnant again. You just might have to wait a little bit longer and try harder but I see no problem.

I think that doctors are much to quick to opt for surgery. Surgery is a big step to take, and should only be a last resort. Without treating the underlying cause of the cyst, it is possible that it will come back. That’s why I believe in the holistic treatment approach for ovarian cysts. It’s totally natural, and addresses issues such as diet, your metabolism, and your hormones. If you can get these right, you will get rid of your cyst naturally and forever, without the need for drugs or surgery.

There’s a good site at with articles and more information. Hope this helps.
