Dermoid Cyst on ovary?

I have to get a dermoid cyst removed from my ovary. It is 11cm x 8cm. The doctor says I will need to get surgery and be in the hospital for 3-4 days and I am nervous. I know I have no choice but to get the surgery but I am worried about how safe this surgery is? My doctor also has to remove my left ovary as well.

I had this same surgery last year. Where I am they do it with a scope and I only had 3 small scars. I went home the same day and didn’t feel too bad, just the after affects from the anesthetic. You will be fine, they removed my cyst and didn’t damage my ovary ( which didn’t matter to me sense I am done having children) . Try not to worry too much. I have to be honest though, I was a wreck before I had mine done so I can sympathize. Good luck.
